👀 What's On This Week In Hali

Hey Halifax!
Festival Season kicked off last weekend with an amazing (but wet) three days of music at Halifax Music Fest, and continues this weekend with the kickoff of Halifax Mural Festival. Also, one of Halifax’s very own has cracked the Top 100 Pizza Chefs in the world, and we’ve got a killer Song of the Week from an amazing new Cape Breton artist.
Let’s dive in. 👇

Catch Outkast’s BIG BOI At TD Halifax Jazz Festival
Halifax Jazzfest came through for hip-hop fans in a BIG way this year.
Big Boi, one half of the legendary hip-hop group Outkast, is headlining the festival just months before he’s set to be inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame this November.
If there was ever a Jazzfest show that EVERY music fan can sing along to, this is it. So if you aren’t familiar, go take a spin through Outkast’s catalogue on Spotify, realize that you know EVERY song, and get your tickets to see him live July 19!
Halifax Mural Festival Kicks off July 5-13
Since 2022, the Halifax Mural Festival has had a huge impact on making our city more vibrant and beautiful. The festival is responsible for virtually all of the most incredible murals that you see today around the city, and starting on July 5, they’ll be unleashing over 40 artists to give the city another new fresh coat of paint.
Take a stroll down Quinpool Rd, the North End’s Pickard Lane, or Maxwells Plum Beer Garden to see the artists in action through the week, and check out their website for a ton of great events happening around the city as part of the festival on July 12-13.
Halifax Pizza Chef Named One of Top 100 In The World
Lou Pecou’s Chef Cédric Toullec was just named one of the top 100 pizza chefs in the world. Frankly, we aren’t surprised. His garlic fingers are so good, they don’t even come with donair sauce. If you’ve never tried Lou Pecou, you might want to change that.
Catch Quake Matthews w/ Working Late This Saturday
Quake Matthews’ Patio Season is undeniably Halifax’s album of the summer, and you can catch him live at Working Late’s Cowgirl Carinval happening this Saturday at Maxwell’s Courtyard. Tickets are currently only $15 so grab em while you can!
Working Late! is a female-owned events company launched earlier this year that has been consistently throwing amazing events in 2025. Give them a follow and hit the link below to grab tickets for Saturday!
⭐️ Song of the Week
This song blew us away when we heard it over the weekend. Halifax-based Cape Bretoner (shocking right?) Bethany Reid is a fresh grad of NSCC’s Music Production and Engineering program, but she’s no stranger to the stage. After spending years starring in musical theatre, she’s just released her debut single - and it’s killer. Check out Rich And Sad on Spotify, and get in on the ground floor of yet another insanely impressive Cape Breton musical talent.
Catch her live at Gus’ Pub on July 11.
