Hey Hali!

We’ve got an all-music edition of the newsletter for you this week. Jenn Grant has put together an incredible sold-out Gaza benefit that you can still get involved with, Quake and Kayo dropped the most Halifax music video of the year, and we’re throwing an intimate house concert with Brett Matthews and Nicole Ariana that you won’t want to miss.

Jenn Grant’s Gaza Fundraiser

Jenn Grant's pop-up Gaza benefit concert is sold out, but you can still be part of something meaningful. This intimate show featuring Jenn, Breagh Isabel, Basyl and special guests is raising funds for two organizations: Al-Salam School (Charity Peace Kitchen) – working to get meals to children ages 6-9 in two neighboring Gaza schools, while continuing to educate when they can – and the Sameer Project, who are distributing aid directly in the area.

A silent auction is launching at the show and running online for a week after. Got a service to offer? Art? Restaurant gift card? Massage? Gym pass? Literally anything helps. Just hit reply and we'll connect you. Every contribution counts.

Quake Matthews & Kayo Just Released The Most Halifax Music Video Of The Year

Quake Matthews and Kayo are back with yet another new release. Not only is the song a super catchy banger. The video is full of fun, playful imagery on the Halifax Waterfront. These are two of the most prolific artists releasing music in Halifax today, so if you for some reason are still not following them, what are you waiting for?

We’re Throwing A House Concert with Brett Matthews & Nicole Ariana

We’re super excited to team up with Toller Lager to throw a super intimate and exclusive oceanside house concert featuring two of the East Coast’s most incredible voices: Brett Matthews and Nicole Ariana.

Join us on June 28th at our gorgeous secret oceanside Airbnb, just outside the city. Guests will be shuttled to and from the venue by Barkeep Cocktails and treated to refreshments from Toller and Barkeep.

There are only 45 tickets available and they’re already 50% sold. Grab yours now to secure your spot!

⭐️ Song of the Week

Halifax's Customer Service are quietly becoming one of the most compelling voices in the emo revival, and "and it feels" shows exactly why. The track starts raw and intimate before blooming into punchy pop-punk territory, with Matt Cheverie's tender vocals exploring a type of longing that feels both nostalgic and immediate. It's the kind of song that captures those big feelings without overthinking them – just three minutes of shimmering guitars, infectious group vocals, and that specific brand of indie-emo that keeps you coming back.

After back-to-back sold-out events, Okay TK and DJ IV are back with another edition of BUMP & GRIND. This time they’re bringing in DJ Baby Yu, truly one of the best DJs in the world.
