Hey Halifax,

As always, we’ve got the week’s top events for you. But today we have one crucial call to action:

On Monday night, Cape Breton singer Elyse Aeryn was involved in a serious motorcycle accident and airlifted to the QEII in Halifax, where she was stabilized overnight and will undergo several surgeries this week as she begins a long and challenging recovery.

Elyse and her partner, Garrett Taylor, are both hospitality workers and professional musicians - gigs that don’t come with a safety net for these situations - and need some support from the community so that they can focus on Elyse’s recovery.

If you’re able, please donate at the link below. You can also find updates on her progress at this link as they become available. ❤️

1️⃣ Agricola Open Street hits Agricola Street this Sunday. The street will be closed to traffic and jam-packed with live music, market vendors, food specials, and more. It’s an incredible way to get out and discover all of the great stuff North End Halifax has to offer.

2️⃣ The Halifax International Wine Festival takes place this Saturday and features over 250 wines to sample and delicious complimentary small bites.

3️⃣ Halifax Fringe Festival kicked off last week and runs through September 7 with over 60 shows to check out. Head over to their website and find something interesting to add to your schedule this week.

An incredible new single from the ever-evolving Aquakultre featuring Gary Beals and the amazing Haliey Smith.
