June’s about to get busy. Let’s dive in!

Quake Matthews’ New Album ‘Patio Season’ is a Must-Listen
Halifax rapper Quake Matthews just dropped an incredible collection of summertime anthems that absolutely belong on your summer playlists. It’s full of nostalgic pop culture, re-imagined 90s hits (Eric Clapton, Ace of Base, Vitamin C samples, anyone?), and is largely self-produced with features from JRDN and Kayo and assists from local producers Corey Lerue and Uncle Fester.
Quake has been rolling this album out with a ton of hilarious, fun content on Instagram. Make sure you follow him and give this album a spin this weekend, whether you’re hip-hop fan or not!
Bedford Beer Garden Opens Today
Speaking of patio season, Bedford’s brand-new Beer Garden is dog-friendly and stocked with local brews and tasty snacks, pouring its first pints this weekend for every sunny sip. They’ve teamed up with Food for the Future to raise funds for Feed Nova Scotia, so each round does a little good while it tastes great.

The Underground: Halifax's Best Kept Secret Goes Full 80s
There’s a very cool event called The Underground that's been quietly happening around the city. Here's how it works: a secret address arrives 24 hours before the show. Phones get turned off at the door. Then you find yourself part of a different world where performers emerge from everywhere around you.
Their next edition is Saturday June 14th with an All Out 80's theme. This immersive speakeasy-style performance happens in and around the audience—live music, dance, theater, and surprise acts curated specifically for the secret venue. Dust off your leg warmers and neon for a phone-free evening where strangers become co-conspirators in pure 80s nostalgia.
Saturday June 14th | Doors 8pm, show 8:30pm

⭐️ Song of the Week
We checked out Strange Plants album release show last Saturday and were blown away by both the super polished performance and the insane lighting and projection experience the band built around the show. Hot Tonight has big festival stage energy and we can’t want to catch them on an outdoor stage ASAP!
