Hey Halifax!

Here’s what’s happening this week in the city.

If you’ve never experienced a Bruce Guthro’s Songwriter’s Circle and don’t have plans Saturday or Sunday, you need to grab one of the few remaining tickets to this weekend’s shows. This is one of the most incredible, intimate musical experiences you can have in Halifax. This edition is hosted by Dylan Guthro and features Donovan Woods, Gordie Sampson, and Emily Falvey.

Donovan Woods is a world-class songwriter and performer. His hit song ‘Portland, Maine’ was recorded by Tim McGraw, and he recently released a 10-year anniversary version featuring LeeAnne Rimes.

Emily Falvey was named “Nashville’s Top New Songwriter” by Forbes Magazine. She wrote MacKenzie Porter’s #1 hit “Seeing Other People”, along with songs for artists Cody Johnson, Walker Hayes, and Carly Pearce.

Gordie Sampson is a Cape Breton legend. He’s writes for the biggest stars in country (ever heard of a song called “Jesus Take The Wheel”?) and has mentored an entire generation of Atlantic Canada’s best songwriters through his Gordie Sampson Song Camp.

🎟️ Grab the last few tickets here.

Our favourite new East Coast Christmas song of the year comes from Halifax blues-rock duo Campbell & Johnston. Truly a perfect easy listening, not too over-the-top Christmasy tune to add to your Holiday party playlists.
