🏀 AUS Basketball Championships Take Over Halifax This Weekend! 🏆

The 2025 Bell AUS Basketball Championships are set to take place from February 28 to March 2 at the Scotiabank Centre. This classic Halifax sports weekend features 10 action-packed doubleheader games, showcasing the top men’s and women’s university basketball teams in Atlantic Canada.

Men’s Championship Highlights:
The Saint Francis Xavier X-Men: Ranked 8th nationally, the X-Men are looking to avenge last year’s insane overtime loss to the Dalhousie Tigers in the final.

Women’s Championship Highlights:
The Saint Mary’s University Huskies: Holding the #2 national ranking just weeks ago, the Huskies faced two late-season defeats to the Acadia Axewomen, intensifying the rivalry as they aim for redemption.

Halifax Black Film Festival Returns with Powerful Stories & Must-See Films

The 9th Halifax Black Film Festival (HBFF) is back, running February 28 to March 4, 2025, celebrating African Heritage Month with a dynamic lineup of films and events. Presented by the Fabienne Colas Foundation, HBFF offers both in-person and online screenings, making it accessible to all. The festival kicks off with Juan Mejia’s film Igualada and features the Black Market, a series of industry panels and workshops. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience diverse voices in cinema.✨

🎶 High School Mixtape Vol. 3 Returns To The Marquee

High School Mixtape is back for Volume 3! 🎤🔥 This all-star lineup of Halifax artists is bringing 90s & 2000s hip-hop and R&B anthems to life—backed live by none other than The Mellotones. If you’ve been to the first two sold-out shows, you already know how legendary these shows are. If not, don’t sleep on this one!
