🏒 PWHL Returns, Ticket Giveaways + this weeks top events

Hey Halifax!

We’ve got two ticket giveaways, a new tune from Cape Breton’s Elyse Aeryn, and Open Waters Festival kicks off today in Halifax. Plus, the PWHL is back in Halifax this weekend and all of the best events happening around town this week.

Let’s dig in!

Quick Hits

• Open Waters Festival 2025 kicks off today, celebrating experimental and improvised music from a diverse lineup of artists.

• Quake Matthews celebrates the release of his latest album PHANTOM this Saturday night at The Marquee. Check out his CTV segment with Katie Kelly for more details and the story of how he ended up on Ice Cube’s latest album. We’re giving away a free pair of tickets - enter here.

• The Mooseheads take on Gatineau on Saturday night at Scotiabank Centre.

• The PWHL Takeover Tour is back in Halifax after a packed sold out game in December. If you missed that event, there are still tickets available for Sunday’s game as Ottawa Charge take on the Boston Fleet. Get tickets here.

• Check out our new Sports section for a full listing of upcoming pro and university sports!

Cape Breton singer-songwriter Elyse Aeryn is back in action after a scary motorcycle accident this past September delayed her album release. We’re so happy to see her back, with a sold out album release show in Membertou and a brand new single.
