Hey Halifax!

Downtown Dartmouth is the place to be this week with an incredible lineup of music during Nowadays Festival. The Mooseheads and Tides are both in action, and Goldie Boutilier and Baby Nova are out in the world becoming legit pop stars.

Dig in!

1️⃣ Nowadays Festival takes place starting tonight through Saturday and features an absolutely stacked lineup of music in Downtown Dartmouth. Highlights include Ryan Hemsworth’s first hometown show since 2014 with his new project Bodysync, Pitchfork darling Hayden Pedigo, multiple former Polaris Music Prize nominees, and three Tiny Desk Concert alumni. Check out the schedule and grab tickets here.

2️⃣ Cape Breton’s Goldie Boutilier is on a hot streak that won’t quit. After a summer of sold-out shows across the US and Europe, she’s now opening for Katy Perry on her Lifetimes Tour in stadiums across the UK. Check her IG for highlights.

3️⃣ After 6 consecutive sold-out shows on PEI, The Grand Tour is bringing its classic country tribute show to Halifax on October 17 with music from George Jones, Johnny Cash, Conway Twitty, Jim Reeves, Charley Pride and more. Grab tickets here.

4️⃣ The Scotiabank Centre is rocking this week with tour stops from Warren Zeiders (last night) and Bryan Adams (Sunday). The Offpsring has also just announced they’ll be playing Scotiabank Centre in February.

We’re giving away 4 free tickets to party with Rankin MacInnis and The Broken Reeds at Savour’s Craft Beer Kitchen Party on October 25 at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront! With over 20 local and guest beers to sample, prizes and an amazing snack bar, it’s going to be an incredible time.

Don’t leave it to chance - buy your tickets today and if you win you’ll be refunded!

We’ve said it before: Halifax’s Baby Nova is on her way to becoming a global pop star. She’s an incredible songwriter who I describe as Sabrina Carpenter meets Lana Del Rey. In the past few months, she’s racked up millions of streams with a truly excellent string of singles, opened for Kate Hudson and Charlotte Cardin, performed at Billboard’s Women In Music celebration and played last weekend’s All Things Go festival in Toronto.

Listen to Virgin Heartbreak and you’ll understand why her star is rising so quickly. Get on this train before it leaves the station completely. This is a Halifax export to be proud of.
