Hey Halifax,

Here’s your weekly round-up of what’s happening around the city this week. The Moosheads and Tides are both in action at home, Prismatic Arts Festival kicks off (and we’re giving away tickets on IG), and HUFF 2025 is here with a killer lineup of shows. Plus, a brand new tune from Bahamas!

1️⃣ Magnetic World hits the Garrison Grounds this weekend with three days of music featuring Dom Dolla, 21 Savage, BigXthaPlug and The Kid Laroi.

2️⃣ Elyse Ayern is recovering from a motorcycle accident, and the music community has stepped in to make sure her scheduled tour happens and all proceeds get back to Elyse to fund her recovery. Catch shows tonight at The Carleton (w/ Roxy Mercier, Maddisun & Angela Saini) and October 3 at The Seahorse (w/ Burry, Nick Earle & Jamie Fontaine)

3️⃣ Halifax Urban Folk Festival runs September 29-October 4 with some of our favourite programming in the city. All of their smaller shows at The Carleton are sold out, but there are still tickets available for three shows at The Basement of the Shoe and The Seahorse.

4️⃣ The Halifax Mooseheads and Halifax Tides are both in action this weekend with home games in Halifax.

5️⃣ The Craft Beer Kitchen Party with Rankin MacInnis is happening October 25 at the Marriott Harbourfront — a perfect warm-up for Winter Warmer season, which is just around the corner.

Halifax’s Bahamas returns with the first single from his upcoming My Second Last Album. The Bridge is an easy listening roots-funk tune with a very cute music video featuring Bahamas (Afie Jurvanen) hanging out with his family along the NS coastline.
