Halifax Mooseheads vs Saint John Sea Dogs

Mooseheads buried by Sea Dogs in homestand opener

Alexander Donovan and the Saint John Sea Dogs dismantled Halifax 5-2 at Scotiabank Centre, with the Mooseheads getting outshot 22-3 in a disastrous first period that set the tone for the entire night. Owen Bresson made 37 saves but faced an avalanche, stopping 20 of 22 in the opening frame as Saint John's new coach Brian Casey's squad struck early and often. Oleg Kulebyakin scored in the third period to make it respectable, but the Herd trailed 4-0 after two periods and never had a chance to mount a real comeback.
