Halifax Mooseheads vs Les Cataractes de Shawinigan

Captain Owen Phillips ended a marathon shootout in the ninth round to give the Mooseheads a 2-1 win over Shawinigan at Scotiabank Centre on Thursday night. Owen Bresson was immense between the pipes, stopping 29 shots through regulation and overtime and adding six more saves in the shootout to keep the Herd alive. The Cataractes' Jack Martin had opened the scoring in the second, but Halifax answered and pushed the game to extras. In a season full of tight losses, this was one the Mooseheads gutted out when it mattered.
